(R).

In reply to question in the House of Peers yesterday Minister for Foreign Affairs stated that recent reports from England clearly demonstrated that arms of British manufacture formed very small proportion of total supplies entering China through Hongkong. He thought that owing to Japan's repudiation of Central Government, merchants would be more circums ect in future.

Addressed to Foreign Office No. 98, repeated to Hongkong.
